Day 01: Tripoli visit (by flight) Sebha - Ubari

Breakfast. The most part of the day is dedicated to a visit of Tripoli (the old Oea) We visit the National Museum, the Ahmed Karamalli Pasha mosque and the old Medina: its narrow alleyways, its elegant mosques and the animated souk. In the afternoon, transfer to Tripoli airport, the flight to Sebha. Jeep drive to Ubari Dinner and overnight

Day 02: Ubari – Germa - Wadi Metkhandoush - Ubari

Breakfast in the desert. Drive down to the Wadi Mathkandush on the way we visit Germa. The Garamentes, legendary and mysterious population of the Libyan Sahara, founded the oasis–town of Germa. They controlled the desert caravan trade from Ghadames south to the Niger River, eastward to Egypt and west to Mauritania. Their wealth and technical skill are also attested to by the remains of their towns, which were built of stone and more than 50,000 of their pyramidal tombs. Afterwards we continue our way to the Wadi where one can admire here the splendid artworks on the rocks: rock 'Graffiti', which testify the presence of water (and life) in this region. Today, however, the area is infertile and arid. Picnic lunch on the way. Return to Ubari and dinner and overnight in the Magic Lodge.

Day 03: Ubari – Lakes – Sebha (by flight) Tripoli

Breakfast in the desert. Full day dedicated to the visit of the lakes in the Awbari region. We will visit a few of the most famous: Ummelmaa, Gaberaoun and Mafo. The second one is located close to a small village of the same name and was originally called ‘Bahr Ed Doud’ (= Sea of Worms), because the black community living here before used the worms they found living in the lake as their principal source of food! Lunch en route. Final drive to Sebha for dinner and the flight back to Tripoli. Transfer to the hotel in for dinner and overnight.

Day 04: Tripoli departure

Breakfast. Transfer to airport and departure for home destination.
