Libya is a land of contrasts; sea,
mountain, plains and desert are all to
be found within its borders. The Libyan coast is 2000 km long, the
coast valleys specially in the western
region are covered with forest of orange
and olive trees. The mountain in the
eastern region Aljabal Alakhdar - this
is the name of the eastern mountain -
serve as a cool retreat during the hot
summer. The fertile plain, which are mainly in
the two coastal regions of Tripolitania
and Cyrinaica and are exceptionally
pleasant in the Spring when covered with
bright wild flowers, adopting the
appearance of a colorful mosaic. The desert in the south with its sand,
dust and the splendid Oasis. Inhabited
by nomads - the great people of the
Tuareg - berber, camels and the odd herd
of sheep and goats on the move in search
of water, it is a place of meditation
and sense of absolute freedom. |
